The sequence in which Anakin, Ahsoka and the Clones come up with an inventive way to board Bane's ship was fun, as they used walkers as improvised drop ships, floating down onto the enemy ship. Once again, it's impressive how dark this show is willing to go – and Cad Bane continues to be a formidable and genuinely chilling creation. Someone was tortured to death on this animated show – onscreen, no less! I actually kept thinking it would turn out he'd used some Jedi trick to make his life signs appear to have stopped, but nope, that was it. I don't know about you, but I found this pretty shocking. Bane had the Jedi tortured, increasing his pain more and more… until he died as a result. Bane first attempted to use his Jedi prisoner to do this, but that had some unexpected results for Bane and certainly for me, as a viewer. The episode's plotline was relatively simple, as Anakin and Ahsoka attempted to get on Bane's ship and retrieve the Holocron cube – something Bane welcomed, to an extent, as he needed a Jedi to unlock the cube. That aside, this was a strong and exciting episode, highlighted by one of the coolest action scenes the show has delivered thus far.

After all, last we saw, Obi-Wan was going to go after Cad Bane - but not only were we told Bane had escaped, but we also found out that in the interim he had managed to capture a Jedi! That seems like material that could have made an entire episode, and not simply information we were quickly given. The opening news reel section of "Cargo of Doom" was a bit jarring, as it seemed like some key events had been skipped over in-between "Holocron Heist" and this installment.
